01 / THE BEGINNING

Built in a garage.
Carried by a community.

In 2002, a Saturday morning rabbit hunt ended back at the Bell family garage. A few small raffles raised $400 for the MS Society in honor of loved ones affected by the disease.

The gathering kept growing—without losing the warmth, humor, and all-hands spirit of that first day. That is still the model today.

Why biomarkers are a breakthrough lever

Progressive MS trials can take years. Better blood and imaging biomarkers may show sooner whether a treatment is working—helping researchers run faster, smarter trials and tailor care more precisely.

The Don Bell Memorial
Research Fellowship

Created with the National MS Society, the fellowship honored a co-founder by backing a promising scientist working at the frontier of MS biomarkers.

Elina Misicka, PhD

At Case Western Reserve University, Dr. Misicka studied metabolic signatures in blood that could clarify MS risk, disability, and progression. She completed her postdoctoral training in 2024—an investment with impact beyond a single project.

A few answers
before you join us.

Do I have to hunt to attend?

Not at all. The fundraiser and banquet are open to everyone. Many guests come only for the food, games, raffles, auctions, and company.

How does the hunt work?

Registered teams of three hunt where they already have legal access, following Wisconsin small-game rules and daily limits. The hunt is one optional part of the larger fundraiser.

Where does my donation go?

Rabbits Unlimited directs funds toward MS research and support, including the National MS Society, the International Progressive MS Alliance, and research fellowship activity.

Can my business donate an item or experience?

Yes. Auction and raffle items are central to the event. Email the volunteer team to discuss a prize donation or a broader sponsorship.
